It's important to be happy and healthy! Health is the overall mental and physical state of a person, the absence of disease; whereas wellness refers to the state of being in optimal mental and physical health. Now a day’s students are facing numerous health issues, anxiety, stress and fear due to availability and over conception of junk food in their educational Institution. So to overcome this biggest problem and to sensitize students about its ill effects Guru Nanak College of Education constituted a Health and Wellness Committee (HWC). The GNCE Health and Wellness Committee empower the GNCE Students’ Community to continually improve healthy behaviour and life style among themselves and others. Based on the holistic well-being philosophy, Committee addresses the students’ dynamic needs and all other aspects of a balanced life by providing wide array of services and education. Committee helps the students to grow, be creative and understand the importance of living a healthy balanced life style, emotionally, mentally and physically.

 HWC Elements:

  1. To sensitize the students on ill effects of junk Food.
  2. To conduct Orientation Programs on Health Issues.
  3. To Counsel students’ regarding proper Nutrition, proper Exercise, and Healthy Habits.
  4. To provide psychological support and to prevent and reduce the incidence of obesity in young students.
  5. Weekly Meeting on Fridays at 9:50 a.m. in the Health & Physical Education Resource Centre (HPRC).
  6. To invite Speakers and to organise various Workshops and Seminars on Adopting Healthy Habits of ‘Healthy Mind Lives in a Healthy Body’
