The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 announced by the Central government recently
brings hope for some positivity in the direction by holding at its core the holistic development
of students who will enter the workforce of the future. Since Vocational Education will be
integrated into all schools and higher education institutions in a phased manner over the next
decade, therefore, individual institutions that are early adopters must innovate to find models
and practices that work and then share these with other stakeholders.
It gives me immense pleasure to be associated with one such endeavor wherein, Guru Nanak
College of Education successfully conducted its 6
th National Conference on the theme- Role of
NEP 2020 in creating an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). It was a pivotal meeting where
some of the most proficient personalities from the field of education presented innovative ideas
along with factual information to overcome the hurdles that may lie ahead in the roadmap of
implementing NEP 2020.
I congratulate the college management, Principal- Dr. Jyoti Bhalla, staff members, and all the
participants who ensured that the 6th National Conference at GNCE turns out to be an
enriching one.
